What is the first thing that goes through your head when you hear a car alarm go off? I'm willing to bet it isn't, "Oh no! A burglar is is trying to break into someones car!" Especially if it's 11 o'clock at night and the alarm has been going strong for a good 15 minutes.
So my question is, what is the point of car alarms? Are they really offering any protection to our vehicles? Or are they just one of those neighborhood noises that wakes up our children and annoys everyone within a 10 mile radius?

Good questions. My alarm completely busted over a year ago and we have yet to fix it. But when it was working and our car did get broken into, do you think the thing went off? Nope! (Then again I could have just slept through it because I was so used to the sound of car alarms...)
Totally agreed, they're not useful and every time my youngest gets my keys she pushes that alluring red button.
Yes. Someone in our apartment complex car went off for 5 hours one day! No one did a thing...They are really just annoying!
They're great for finding your car when you forget where you parked.
