Sausage is the new beef

With food prices getter higher every time I go grocery shopping I have started to get a little creative with how I prepare meals. Since I could use my whole food budget buying a few pounds of beef I have found a new animal that can replace the cow in quite a few recipes. Jimmy Dean's regular pork sausage has become my new best friend in the kitchen. At less than three dollars a pound I can justify this purchase and I like the flavor it adds better than beef. Here are just a few ideas on how to use sausage instead of beef:
  1. Cook it up and put it in spaghetti sauce. The flavor is amazing.

  2. These delicious egg rolls. So good! One of my favorite dishes at the moment.

  3. Add a 1/2 pound of sausage to this really easy but tasty recipe for Crock Pot macaroni and cheese. You'll be happy with the result.

I'm with you on this too. I feel like the sausage flavor goes further unlike beef.
