While making what seems like my daily trip to Wal-Mart a couple weeks ago, I noticed a bunch of DVD's that were selling for $1. I quickly scanned them and picked up three sing-a-long ones for Sadie. My thought process went something like this: Sadie likes to sing, these are cheap, so why not?When I made the quick decision to buy these DVD's I could have never predicted the Kidsongs phenomenon currently taking over our house. The minute I popped one of these DVD's in, Sadie was hooked. Even better, I totally remember watching these when I was a kid! Sadie would watch these things morning, noon and night if I let her. She is addicted to the overly cheesy kid's singing in overly cheesy music videos.
The point of this post isn't to dwell on my $3 find. Instead, I wanted to focus on what is said after the credits. In a really perky voice, the announcer says, "Kidsongs are kid friendly because they automatically loop!"
Every time I hear that, I just laugh to myself. How many times do they think kids should watch the same show in one day? If Sadie had her way, she would sit in front of the TV all afternoon but that can't be healthy! In fact, there have been a few times when I haven't caught it in time and before I knew it, I was hearing that annoying but catchy intro song for the second time. Why in the world is Kidsongs promoting and allowing kids to watch their show on repeat? It's silly and sad at the same time.

Kind of like the Lamb Chop's song "This is the song that never end" only DVD style. That is too funny. Those Kidsongs promoters might not be ethical, but they certainly know child psychology.
