For those of you who haven't heard, my brother-in-law, Eric, broke his back on Monday. He fell off the second story of a house that he was building for work. It's a pretty bad break and he's in a lot of pain but after his successful surgery yesterday, it looks like he is going to be alright. My sister is exhausted but she's being such a trooper. It can't be easy to watch your husband go through so much.
I went to visit them at the hospital yesterday. It was around lunchtime so I went to the cafeteria with Laci and Eric's parents. I ordered a turkey sandwich and told the guy behind the counter what I wanted on it. I picked out my standard turkey, cheese, lettuce, olives, mayonnaise and mustard. I know, real healthy. But that's what I like! I order this at Subway every time I go. But the beauty of the hospital cafeteria's menu is that they weigh your sandwich to see how much it's going to cost. Since my sandwich was so little, it only cost 90 cents! Can you believe that? It was delicious too! This way of charging for food works well with my simple taste buds.
Back to my post. If you know Eric and Laci, please keep them in your prayers. He's got a long road to recovery and I'm sure they would appreciate any help they can get!
