Boring

I will never forget something my 6th grade teacher, Mr. Davis said to me and some of my classmates when we told him we were bored. He said, "Only boring people get bored."

When I first heard this, I was offended. But once I thought about it, I realized how true his statement was. I believe being bored is a state of mind. You choose to be bored. Even in the most unexciting circumstances, it is our choice whether we are going to be bored or if we enjoy the relaxed moment.

Just a thought from me. What are your thoughts on the subject?

I'd say his statement is true, for the most part. When I don't have necessary things I have to get done, I always have a long list of things I want to do, like read a book, bake a cake, or call a friend.

I do get bored sometimes, though, but I think it only happens when I'm stuck somewhere -- like at a car mechanic shop for an hour. Still, I probably shouldn't have been bored -- I should've had a book with me.

Hey, that brings me to another point: I think if you carry a book around with you all the time, you'll probably never get bored . . . Hm. I need to get a purse that's big enough to hold a book . . .

Growing up around my house being bored meant that you really wanted some more chores to do. Needless to say, we didn't say we were bored very often!

Words of wisdom from Mr. Davis! I could not agree more! You can make your life as boring or exciting as you choose it to be.Some days a little boring is good but for me I will take exciting and fun any day! Life is great!

My house was the same way. Whenever we said "Mom, I'm bored." She would say, "Oh I can give you something to do." Her "something to do" was always folding clothes or doing dishes.
