Why it's good to have the flu

I woke up with the flu last Thursday morning. It came out of nowhere but boy, did it hit hard. I was pretty much out of commission until well, today. Here's my list of why I'm glad I got the flu:
  1. Good excuse to stay in bed all day. By all day, I mean ALL DAY! Well, except for the hourly trips to the bathroom.

  2. I didn't think twice about taking 2-3 baths per day.

  3. I got to stay in my pajamas.

  4. I got to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to Ugly Betty. Luckily, lets you watch all the previous episodes. Eleven 1-hour episodes later, I decided I understood all the fuss.

  5. I didn't have an appetite so I probably lost a few pounds.

  6. I didn't feel bad about not shaving my legs.

  7. Good incentive to get a flu shot next year.

  8. Best of all, I got to witness this:

Whoa -- is that butter on that toast? That's a lot of butter, if it is!

Since I work at the CDC and all, I'm proud to hear you say that you plan on getting a flu shot next year. I'm in the business of health promotion, remember?

It's cheese! If we ate that much butter, this blog wouldn't last much longer... :)

I'm sorry you're sick, Linds. I missed you at church on Sunday (lest you think that no one noticed you were gone--I did!).

Get well soon!!! Let me know if you need anything.
