Today however, I went overboard. Both sets of nails needed a trimming. I was in a race against time because Sadie was going to wake up from her nap any minute and I still had quite a few things I needed to get done without her little fingers grabbing for everything. So what did I do? I cut my nails a little too short. I have been paying for it ever since. My left big toe is killing me. So are both of my thumbs and my right pointer finger. Just the slightest bit of pressure and I'm in pain. Not cool.
Luckily, this pain is temporary. My nails grow rather quickly so I know by tomorrow night, I will no longer be bothered. Phew.
So, how do you like your nails?

Short, short, short! I love short nails! And my favorite thing to do right after I cut my fingernails is to wash my hands. I dunno. I like it.
I feel your pain. Unfortunately I always have painfully short fingernails because I bite my nails. I have had the habit since I was tiny and I can't seem to break it. I wish I could have long fingernails but as soon as they start to get to a normal length I get stressed and bite them off. It makes me mad. But, if I had a choice in the matter, I would probably prefer them to be not short, but just a normal length.
I remember reading something about how it's best to leave a little bit of the white part of your nail. I don't remember the reasoning for it, but I do remember that it was a good one. Maybe it had something to do with ingrown toenails or bacteria...Like I said, I really don't remember.
I like my fingernails to be longer because I feel like it makes my fingers appear longer and more slender; otherwise they look short and stubby.
I too bite my nails. I know what that pain feels like when I bite too short. I really enjoy getting my nails done. I get the Asain lady to cut them short though, so it's not too much of a drastic change
Just don't cut your kids nails too short! My dad always did and it hurt. Clay has a good story about his pops clipping his nails too short as well. Sometimes we need to remember how uncomfortable things/situations can be, for our kids sake.
